    INTRODUCTION

Vietnam is a fascinating country with a unique history and many worthwhile sites, making it a prime destination for sightseers and tourists alike. But for golfing enthusiasts, it also has another allure - several world-class courses and resorts with enough challenging holes to tempt amateurs and hardcore golfers alike.

The first place you'll tee off is in Ho Chi Minh City at the Vietnam Golf & Country Club.  This club's challenging east course was designed by golfing legend Lee Trevino. In the city of Dalat, your golf game will be complimented by beautiful natural surroundings as the Dalat Palace Golf Club was designed nestled in the region's hills and overlooking the Xuan Huong Lake. Further south, Phan Thiet features the Ocean Dunes Golf Club, designed by another legendary golfer, Nick Faldo. Its location offers a unique set of challenges from the wind coming in from the coast. Just outside of Ho Chi Minh City lies the Bochang Golf Resort in Dong Nai, home to three 9-hole courses in a tropical forest setting.

Each of the three destinations on this trip has something to offer outside of golf as well. The history of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon) is well documented and sightseeing opportunities centred around the town's war-torn past are plentiful and worthwhile. Dalat is a European-inspired town with a charm unlike any other city in Vietnam (or Southeast Asia for that matter). The small harbor town of Phan Thiet is quickly becoming a popular tourist spot with many luxury resorts that compliment its golf attractions.

Both on the golf courses and off, this tour offers something for everyone and is a different way to experience Vietnam. If you're an intense competitor with an eye for tourism and history, you may find this excursion a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
